Orgasms… How do they work?

A Medical Perspective

When a woman understands her own body and how it functions, she can deepen her knowledge of her own sexuality. She can learn what it takes to be fully aroused and how to attain full, deeply satisfying orgasms with her partner.

While testosterone may commonly be thought of as a male hormone, it is an essential component to a woman's sexuality. Healthy men have about a 3% circulating testosterone level. Women with normal sex drives (libidos) have about 1% circulating testosterone level in their blood.

From age 30 to 60, a woman's estrogen and testosterone levels drops by about 70%. Her sex drive and clitoral tissues are disproportionately sensitive to even minor drops in estrogen and testosterone. No testosterone means no libido. A low testosterone level equates with a low libido.
